Argentina Rugby Team Wins Against Italy

In a one off Rugby Test match the Pumas prevailed as Argentina beat Italy.

Eddie Jones had his visitors put up a score that was record breaking. It was against his countrymen and it resulted in a blood bath in a Brisbane playing field. The Pumas helped Argentina get a win over Italy with a score of 30-24. The win came about in Santa Fe where the game was held. Nicolas Sanchez who had the role of a fly half helped to get the match settled. It was part of the June Test series. About 20 points were obtained from a conversion and six penalties. Argentina initially started off with players from the Jaguares Super Rugby. This franchise worked well for the country. They will now be facing France in a series of two Tests. It would take place in Tucuman which is a northwestern city.

The center player, Juan Martin Hernandez played brilliantly who set up Manuel Montero, the winger. The first try that they made in the 25th minute worked out for them. Italy had put up a strong defense. This made it hard for the Argentina team. They were unable to run for the ball clearly. There came a break on the hour mark when Sanchez was able to lead. Matias Moroni then took over to try for the Pumas a second time.

Italy put up a formidable game that kept the spectators on their tenterhooks. The stadium with 26000 spectators did not know how to react to the game till the last moment. Italian players put up a good defense and it was not clear which side would ultimately win. For Argentina, who finally won the game, it was the second victory that came by after they won over the Barbarians. This game had taken place at Twickenham.
